Dr. Yuko Nakamoto Dr.TCM 

Dr. Yuko Nakamoto established the Sea Island Wellness Clinic at the Aberdeen Centre in Richmond B.C. She is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist. Dr. Nakamoto holds a doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine located in Vancouver. She completed five years of academic studies and one thousand hours of practicum and internship at the China University Hospital in Tai Chung, Taiwan. 

Dr. Nakamoto continues studying and updating her knowledge post graduation under the direction of Dr. Beiyu Hu.

Dr. Nakamoto focuses on helping her patients to attain a healthy and happy life.

Outside of work Yuko has varied interests in music, needlework arts, animals, physical fitness and a continued interest in learning.

Cupping  is a type of Chinese massage, consisting of placing several glass "cups" on the body and the placing of vacuum or warm cups on the surface of the skin to relax muscles, reduce inflammation and promote circulation. 

Gua Sha is abrading the skin with pieces of smooth jade, bone, animal tusks or horns or smooth stones; until red spots then bruising cover the area to which it is done. It is believed that this treatment is for almost any ailment including cholera. The red spots and bruising take 3 to 10 days to heal, there is often some soreness in the area that has been treated
